...December....
winter has slowly been showing up this past week...its 21 degrees today but with the wind chill its 5 degrees....i'll admit that winter is not my favorite...but this year im looking at her with a different angel, and appreciating her beauty...
the grey cloudless skies and bare limbs
the sound of the wind chimes as her artic winds blow through and seep through cracks in the windows and doors...
curling under my flannel sheets and feather comforter and looking out the window...
hot steaming coca
and cinnamon sticks simmering on the stove...
i had originally thought we were going to skip by with a mild winter, but after 10 inches of snow last week and the numbing winds and dropping temps have me thinking again...
ah sweet december....one of my favorite months and now another good reason to celebrate december is the birth of my nieces new baby girl, Joey River....
winter is a time for catching up on books not read over the summer
hot cafe lattes and movie days under a mound of quilts...
its the smell of cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg
and eggnog
its heavy winter coats, boots and fuzzy warm socks
its racing to the car with red rosy cheeks from the wind whipping across your face
its laughter and anticipation for santa to come from the children
its blazing fires in a wood fireplace
and the smell drifting through the house....
its a time to help those in need, to smell and lend a helping hand if you can.
its spreading the "happy" around even when you are not feeling it.
Happy Holidays to my wonderful clients who have become dear friends and to my family and friends.
XOXOX
