Days with Alayna

I'm feeling melancholy today. My mood is screaming for black and white photographs with lots of grain.  I'm sadden that the days of Alayna's childhood are flying by so quickly and that she is starting kindergarten this fall. I won't be able to spend as much time with her. There won't be anymore week night sleep overs at Nannies because she'll have school the next day. There won't be anymore late nights laying in bed sharing our stories and listening to her telling me her dreams; and her secrets.

I waited for this child for so long; even long before I was even aware of it.  She and I have a special bond; my Alayna and I. 

Yes its a soberly thoughtful day today.
