they are coming...autumn days

even though the calendar says its still summer, the weather is telling me something different. autumn is here and it won't be long till she drapes her beauty through the trees, golden colored leaves floating effortlessly to the ground in a whisper.

today is cool with a temp of 69 degrees. it is way cooler for what it should be this time of year. im not complaining.  soon it will be time to wander outside and collect acorns, scattered leaves and white pumpkins to scatter inside the house. burning candles and cinnamon scents floating through the house. simmering soups on the stove. and a sense of slowing down.  im ready to slow down...ready for autumn nights on the back porch with a cup of warm cinnamon tea in hand.

today im listening to this song and letting myself float away on

the promise of good things coming. 

im looking at a picture i took of baby teaghan and my heart swells with  unsurmountable  love

my feet are cold on the hardwood floors this morning. time to dig out my fuzzy warm socks and put the sandals away for another season. its sweater and boot weather now, with a wish for an indian summer still to come.

its shorter days and longer nights coming soon.

and im okay with that, for now.
