Days with Mama

yesterday i had a shoot and afterwards decided to go over to my mamas house.

i don't get over there as often as i should, but i am going to start making it a priority. my mama is 90 years old. for the most part, praise the lord, she gets along pretty good. she still lives in her own apartment, she can still walk, and think clearly, although she forgets things ever now and then, but i'd say not anymore than i do  ...
she can still drive if she needs too, although i don't like her too. her reflexes are not too fast  so every friday we have a mother/daughter date. i pick her up and we run our errands, we go out to lunch and i cannot tell you how precious and important these days with her are. these memories we are making together are so valuable to me...

the sun hasn't shined in days, instead we've been plagued with rain, in the place of snow...this has been a  warm winter and very different from what we are use to  in the midwest.

i've been in a slump lately, no get-go, this is usual for me in January. i hate January. by the time she rolls around shes a disappointment. the holidays are over, the christmas trimmings are packed away and january lingers too long....

january is the time i start to get antsy
i get tired of sitting in the house, even though i have 50 different things i could be doing they are not what i want to be doing...i want to be outside , with the sun shining on my face and the wind blowing in my hair..i want to see my grandchildren running through fields of tall grass with big smiles plastered across their faces...i want to be doing what i love; shooting
and recording memories and that doesn't happen often in the winter, even though its been a mild winter its hard to catch up with the kids. they always have something going on and are  busy with their own lives. clients seem to want to hibernate as well.....

its monday, the start of a new week, a time for a new page to be turned and new memories to be made...7 days of blank pages to be filled...
what will your 7 days be filled with?

XOXO
God bless you!
