glittering diamonds
a silence walking along
empty roads
a calmness only a still
winter day can bring.

Today I awoke to freshly fallen snow
draping over long branches
covering green shrubs, dragging on the
ground from the heaviness
clean, unscathed
and glittering in tiny
sparkles.
